We Are All Very Small

Juicelog Tues 210206: Now for those of you who wonder what old folks get up to when they’re not at their local post offices and watching re-runs of Little Britain on a Tuesday night, I think I have stumbled upon their secret. Whilst viewing Grant ‘S’ Roger’s we are all very small exhibition tonight on Cork Street I observed how many old people there were inside the gallery an hour after the exhibition had started. Many of them didn’t seem to be that into the artwork. Couldn’t really blame them as most of the pieces on display were canvases of animals (namely dogs) that didn’t appeal to me at all. Even though a few pieces sold with quite hefty price tags I’m sure a few Korean restaurants would be able to take a few more of Grant’s hand.

Got chatting to this elderly couple who introduced themselves to me by asking me “are you the doggie artist?”. It transpired that a lot of them had been flitting about from gallery to gallery lured in by free booze rather than the actual art pieces. Cynthia managed to acquaint herself with two slightly unusual beatnik like characters tonight. One of them was a writer (Robin Dutt) and the other looked like a Siamese cat. Robin is writing a book about 18th century courtesans and will be launching his book in 18 months time.

Discovered a new toy for the winter weather which came in the form of a self heating hand glove packet thingy. After taking it out of the wrapper you simply shake it for a couple of minutes and it heats up via some chemical reaction taking place inside the packet. Apparently some women used it to relieve themselves of period back pains. On hearing this I simply shoved it underneath my hat to see whether I could feel any therapeutic sensation.
