why London is a great city (reason number 58)

Juicelog Sun 070506: This afternoon a whole gang of us went to watch the last show of the Sultan’s Elephant. We waited for what seemed like ages for the elephant to arrive at Piccadilly from St. James Park. When it arrived it certainly lived up to its 40 foot wondrous reputation that bloggers have hyped it up to be. People in the crowds panicked slightly as the elephant got closer and closer. It was like a stampede of wooden elephants were going to squish all the human beings to death if they didn’t move out the way quick enough. Luckily we weren’t close enough to get sprayed by the massive jet of water that was randomly fired out of the elephants trunk.
