Fixed

Juicelog Wed 280307: Today, I did something that no gay man should have to do. I replaced the washer on my bathroom faucet. Not a difficult thing to do but I had to do some reading up on how to do it properly. After completing the job I felt extremely proud of my mini success.

An Afternoon Christening

Juicelog Sun 250307: A small gang of us decided to go to our second residence for a petite country retreat. Not long after my glitzy strident appearance (at Later/Fire this afternoon), Robbie took a premature departure after consuming too much salty limonada. Slouching and sleepmincing back to South Bank, he did not notice that a bill was passed through the Sunday committee sneakily through the backdoor. It’s official that “Robbish” is now the artist formerly known as Robbie.

Barry K’s Bidet

Juicelog Sat 170307: Briefly joined Robbie’s posse for a delicious Eurasian flavoured dinner at Pang’s flat (a shockingly gigantic three bedroom flat in the Elephant and Castle area). Housed in an old school his place had that New York loft-house feel to it.

After filling up my tummy, I went to fill up my mind at Barry K’s 45th bidet house party in Catford.

Orlando / La Boheme

Juicelog Wed 140307: Last week, Bouncy Boy gave me my first opera experience with Orlando (at the Royal Opera House). And then this was followed up with La Boheme (at the English National Opera). Orlando was a bit more challenging than La Boheme as it was sung in Italian and we were seated at an awkward angle. Musically, both operas didn’t do much for me. This is partly due to a lack of knowledge about this particular musical genre but a lot of it stems from the fact I don’t find the melodic compositions that exciting. Even though I can’t whole heartedly recommend opera as a must do activity, both buildings are stunning enough to make the experience worthwhile.

DBB’s Bidet

Juicelog Wed 070307: Sharing a toilet with another fellow human being is something that we save for special occasions. Sharing your thirties is something that you should do on a regular basis. My dear friend, DBB, was feeling frightfully wrinkle shy tonight. As he slowly slips down his pole of youthfulness which has been heavily greased with two layers of Just For Men, here’s a little group embrace to welcome him into his 29th year…..

Goodbye Fiction

Juicelog Fri 020307: Before the vibrant Vauxhall scene that we now have, there once was a nifty club called Fiction which properly introduced the sound of funky house to the gay massive. When I look back at my memories of this place, I always associate this place with summertime. The Cross has always been a firm favourite of mine and attracts a good mixture of ravers. Maybe it’s the tropical feel of the outdoor garden area. Maybe it’s the variety of the small quaint rooms. Maybe it’s the way the security staff closely inspect both your testicles. Whatever it is, it will always be regarded as one of those defining clubs of my generation. It’s the closest thing you can get to the experience Ibiza bop without having to hop onto a plane.

Flocking together from different locations of the London area a few of us gathered to spit and piss on Fiction’s gravestone tonight. It was the seventh but also the last one to be held at The Cross. Without the warm midnight summer evening to entice us out of the indoor area it was more testing to enjoy tonight’s revelry. Nick Bridges rounded off the final set with the very apt Gajdo’s “So Many Times”.
