Is 3 a dividable number?

Juicelog Wed 300507: Across the globe there are mathematicians beavering away at trying to discover the latest prime number. This is quite difficult but not as challenging as the numerical task that some of my friends are working on. A homo-couple that I know recently embarked on a new venture.

Having been together for a couple of years they introduced a third person into their relationship. Things progressed onto quite a serious stage for all three of them which then fizzled out. This fascinating chapter of theirs got me thinking a bit more about polyamorous relationships (a topic that is not widely discussed and spoken about in everyday conversation).

Society in general has conditioned us to think of loving relationships as a two person thing but why can it not work with more than two human beings. Part of this has got to do with conforming to what the general population at large considers to be the social norm. For some people it would mean re-defining their religious beliefs. But for others it is a fear of the unknown and lack of understanding of how this particular concept would actually work in practice.

As I still struggle to get my head around a regular two-way, my friends foray into this unexplored region of togetherness has really intrigued me and sparks off many questions. How do you tell your parents? What are the secrets of making a relationship like this work? How do you balance the emotional side of things to ensure that both partners feel loved? Is there a special trick to fitting three pillows into one queen size bed? Who gets left out in a game of tennis?

Put your hands up for….

Juicelog Sat 260507: ….Skankchester. I love this city. Boyracer’d up to Manchester with Crazycakes and Aunty Stu for a bit of Northern sunshine. On arrival to Moss Side, Londan greeted us with cookies, cookies and more cookies.

Adapting our southern appetite to the northern disco diet we successfully crammed in five clubbing sessions into the expanded weekend. Only one really rocked it for me and that was Ibizatastic Federation (@ Ritz). Great sounds, ornate venue, brilliant production values, great crowd and a happy vibe. Can't wait for the next one!

Everybody Loves The Sunshine

Juicelog Sat 050507: Martial, Danny, Robbie, Mac, Mummy, Daddy, Clitty and myself forecasted rainy weather in the UK and decided to give the grey skies a miss by jetting off to sunny Playa Del Ingles. During our stay we ran short of money and ended up doing a bit of part-time work (being german club reps and bar flyering) to earn some extra dosh.

Attempts on Her Life

Juicelog Thurs 030507: Had an uplifting but brief drinking encounter with Matt B this afternoon. Matt gave me mini updates whilst simultaneously promoting about how wonderful and relaxed life in Bristol is. When I was given my opportunity to download my life into his consciousness I soon realised he had not been reading my blog. After getting over the shock and revulsion, I explained the concept of a blog to him until I shut down the 9 year generational difference between us.

After grasping the blogging concept, he then quizzed me about what I get out of blogging and so I explained to him how it works for me in a variety of way. One of the benefits is that is acts a time saving device, as it has reduced the amount of people asking me that aged old question of “what have you been up to?”. More importantly it allows me to visualise my thoughts which in turn has a soothing therapeutic effect.

After my 60 minutes with Matt, I rushed down to the National Theatre to join David Wantsome for Attempts On Her life. A fairly ambitious production but unfortunately the play was disappointing. Utilising a variety of media media clips and different voices it went about trying to present different sides to the central character called Annie.

During our performance there were two technical glitches and I never quite worked out why the actors themselves were so heavily involved in the technical side of things. This was fairly distracting and took away the focus from the content which was fairly fast paced and heavily descriptive. The parody of the X-Files and Newsnight Review were quite witty. For me the whole thing felt empty as most of the clips were too short and this didn’t allow for there to be any real build up and hence lost of connection with the audience.
